Boston Scott, who spent six seasons primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles, announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, via a statement on his social media accounts.[1][2]

The 29-year-old running back, listed at 5-foot-6, played college football at Louisiana Tech University in Conference USA before being selected by the Eagles in the sixth round, 201st overall, of the 2018 NFL Draft.[3][4]

In 75 regular-season games, including 12 starts, all with Philadelphia, Scott rushed for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also returned kicks and punts early in his career.[5]

Scott gained the nickname "Giants Killer" for strong performances against NFC East rival New York Giants, including a touchdown in Philadelphia's 31-7 wild-card playoff win over New York on January 21, 2022.[1][5]

His last regular-season appearance came on January 7, 2024, with two carries for five yards in a 27-10 Eagles win over the Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.[5]

Released by Philadelphia in March 2024, Scott signed with the Los Angeles Rams on May 13, 2024, but was waived on August 27. He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad on October 15, 2024, and was released on November 5.[1][2][5]

In Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, Scott had two carries for two yards as the Eagles lost 38-35 to the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.[5]

In his retirement statement, Scott expressed gratitude to coaches, teammates and staff, reflecting on his path from a college walk-on to the NFL.[1]

Scott has also worked as a content creator with esports organization Dignitas since signing a deal in July 2021.[6]
