Purrazzo pitches ROH as prime destination for women's free agents

Ring of Honor Women's Pure Champion Deonna Purrazzo called on free-agent wrestlers to consider ROH a key landing spot for women's divisions. Purrazzo, who helped restart ROH's women's wrestling in 2015, highlighted the promotion's under-the-radar appeal for story development and multiple weekly matches. She defeated Billie Starkz in December to claim the title and has held it since.

Purrazzo joined ROH in 2015 and featured in one of the company's first women's matches in nearly a decade. She spent three years there before returning in 2024 amid AEW co-founder Tony Khan's ownership of ROH as an AEW sister promotion. She entered a tournament for the inaugural women's pure championship upon her latest ROH stint.

Athena has held the ROH Women's World Championship for more than 1,200 days. Red Velvet has reigned as ROH Women's World Television Champion for more than 150 days. Purrazzo told Fox News Digital that ROH features four to six women's matches most weeks, allowing wrestlers to "develop and tell stories and show personality."

Purrazzo and husband Steve Maclin, a former U.S. Marine and TNA wrestler, host the Battle for the Brave charity event on June 6 to benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. As a military spouse, Purrazzo emphasized support for veterans facing post-service identity challenges.
